This article will teach you how to change text on your windows xp start button, you have to do this very carefully. We are going to change explorer.exe so read all the stuff and implement it but be careful. I am not responsible if you screw up you explorer.exe by doing this.

Before going to make any change you must make a backup of your explorer.exe located in C:\windows\explorer. Move it someplace on you hard disk.
Now at this step you have to change String Table expand it by clicking plus sign in it, and expand string 37 followed by 1033, we are going to modify item 578 currently showing start. If you think that you have to be technical to modify this than you are wrong simply double click on it than you are able to write your own text be careful do not disturb the ""
By looking upward you can easily see the compile button, click on compile script then save the altered file using the Save As command on the File Menu. Do not use the Save command – Make sure to use the Save As command and choose a name for the file. Save the newly named file to C:\Windows.
You have done 50% of the game now at this step we have to modify the registry so the file will be recognized when the user logs on to the system. Click on start then run and type "regedit" than navigate to
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\ Microsoft\ Windows NT\ CurrentVersion\ Winlogon
In the right side double click the Shell entry to open the Edit String dialog box. In Value data: line, enter the name that was used to save the modified explorer.exe file. Click OK.
Close registry editor and reboot your system, if all went as described than you should see your modified start button.
